Vietnamese Police Seize 3600 Tons of Contaminated Noodles
Police in Vietnam seized nearly 700kg of fresh noodles and 10kg of borax during a recent investigation. Authorities also confiscated 27 glass liquid solution containers and 10 liters of yellow coloring solution used in production. Preliminary findings indicate the group used borax, liquid glass, and artificial dyes to increase noodle elasticity and shelf life since 2014. Officials estimate the total volume of contaminated noodles produced and consumed exceeds 2,800 tons. An additional 800 tons are being processed as part of the investigation.
