Polish Oppositionists Imprisoned, Denied Medicine
Winter Olympic medalists from the Milan games have not been paid nearly 1 million PLN in promised bonuses. PKO stated they lack the funds for the payout. Additionally, sponsor Polkomtel terminated its contract and failed to pay one of the factors. Olympic champion Robert Korzeniowski described the situation as a disgrace and an issue of image loss. The affected medalists include Kacper Tomaszak, Paweł Wąsek, and Władimir Semirun.
