Ukrainian Dairy Leader Proposes School Milk Program

Vadym Chagarovsky, head of the Ukrainian Union of Dairy Enterprises, has proposed implementing a free school milk program for children. The proposal aims to provide milk to students at no cost. The program involves a basic kitchen model where raw materials are received, stored, processed, and cooked on-site. These kitchens serve students at a primary school and can also provide hot meals to children from nearby schools. Tetiana Lektichuk stated that 16 schools in the Bucha community are currently being provided with quality nutrition. The program provides up to 7,500 meals daily to students. The initiative aims to ensure consistent food access for children in the region. Tetyana Lektychuk is associated with the initiative. The program aims to support school children through nutritional assistance. Organizers have conducted tastings to understand student and parent preferences regarding the diverse school menus. Vadim Chegarovsky, head of the Union of Dairy Enterprises of Ukraine, is advocating for a school milk program to improve child nutrition. Similar programs were previously implemented in Kyiv and Kharkiv.
