Vietnam War Veterans Sue To Block Trump Monument
A Vietnam veteran and their daughter have filed a lawsuit against the Department of Veterans Affairs. A group of Vietnam War veterans filed a lawsuit to block the construction of a triumphal arch in Washington D.C. planned to be placed near the Lincoln Memorial. The plaintiffs argue the monument would obstruct the view between the Lincoln Memorial and Arlington National Cemetery. They further claim the president lacks the authority to erect a monument on federal land without Congressional approval. Donald Trump described the lawsuit as ridiculous and stated veterans should welcome the arch. A reporter noted that veterans should actually be celebrating the triumphal arch.
