Australia Reports 357 Drowning Deaths Last Year
A report has made recommendations regarding the National Gun Buyback Scheme, which was announced by the Prime Minister five days after the Bondi terror attack. Findings show that at least 16 people in different parts of the country were killed. The report discussed the use of lethal force in the course of the campaign. These figures represent the minimum number of deaths that could be confirmed and verified. New data shows 357 people died from drowning in Australia last year. Drowning levels have reached a two-decade high, prompting calls for renewed first aid and CPR training. Swim Safety Ambassador Laurie Lawrence stated that more must be done to train and protect small children. Twelve of the recorded deaths involved young children.
