Two RENAP Workers Detained In Guatemala

The agency cited a failure to fulfill duties and direct participation in criminal acts performed with intent. Renab stated these individual actions were taken outside established procedures and in violation of current regulations. Guatemala's National Registry of Autonomous Entities (Renab) has initiated administrative processes against workers at Office 213 in San José del Golfo. The agency maintains these were individual actions that harmed the institution. Two employees of the National Registry of Persons (RENAP) were arrested in San José del Golfo. They are accused of continuous alteration of civil status and failure to perform duties. The arrests occurred following the capture of a Mexican national in Argentina who was carrying a Guatemalan DPI.
