Graffiti Found On Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool
Crews are applying a blue coating to the bottom of the reflecting pool in front of the Lincoln Memorial to seal leaks. President Donald Trump stated the project will cost approximately two million dollars and last 40 to 50 years. This alternative was chosen to avoid costs of hundreds of millions of dollars and several years of work. Currently, only a small section near the Lincoln Memorial shows a blue hue and the color is not yet uniform. The Department of the Interior said the project is on track for completion by the end of May. after graffiti was discovered on Friday. The graffiti, consisting of the numbers 8647, was found near the pool which is currently under renovation. The National Park Service notified the Park Police of the incident around 7:20 a.m. Authorities have placed a tarp over the affected area to cover the damage.
