Leipzig To Build 36-Unit Asylum Accommodation
A new asylum shelter will be constructed in the Grinau district of Leipzig to accommodate up to 200 people in 36 apartments. The project is expected to be completed by early 2028 at a cost of approximately 13 million euros. The city intends to rent the building for at least 25 years before it is converted into a standard residential building. Industrial companies are reportedly facing material shortages, which are attributed to the blockade of the Strait of Hormuz. Reports indicate the garden office has referred the matter to state authorities. The facility will provide housing for up to 200 people across 36 apartments.
