Chengdu Station Expects High Passenger Volume During May Day Holiday

Chengdu Station expects to transport 3.952 million passengers during the eight-day May Day holiday period, representing a 3.1% increase compared to last year. Passenger volume is expected to reach 3.952 million, a 3.1 percent year-on-year increase. Chengdu East Station is expected to handle 2.536 million passengers, with the peak flow occurring on May 1. Chengdu Station expects a surge in passenger volume driven by long-distance travel to cities like Beijing, Xi'an, and Chongqing. Chengdu Station is adding 25 trains to Shuangliu Airport Station and 14 trains to Tianfu Airport Station to facilitate air-rail transfers. Chengdu Station has implemented measures to manage a holiday passenger surge by extending operating hours for metro, bus, and taxi services. Chengdu station is extending operating hours and dynamically adjusting shuttle capacity to assist special travelers and reduce wait times. Chengdu Station is implementing a peak-period operation plan to manage high passenger traffic during the May Day holiday. Chengdu Station will add 279 additional train trips to manage the May Day holiday travel surge. Passenger flow is concentrated in cities including Beijing, Shanghai, Hengzhou, Nanjing, Xi'an, and Chengdu. Regional travel hubs such as Zhengzhou, Luoyang, Kaifeng, and Anyang are also seeing high volumes. China Railway plans to utilize high-speed rail networks to manage the peak, with approximately 200,000 zero-hour trains scheduled to ensure safety.
