Study Recommends Sex Ed Changes To Prevent College Sexual Assaults
A new study from the nonprofit initiative It's On Us recommends changes to sex education for boys to prevent sexual assaults in college. The research found that Black men in college are more likely than other races to have received sex education at a very young age through community and family conversations. Tracy Vitchers serves as the executive director of It's On Us. The study aims to address sexual assault prevention on campuses across the United States. The research suggests expanding content to include topics such as consent, communication, healthy conflict, and gender norms. Findings indicate that LGBTQ plus men tend to use medically accurate online sources like the Cleveland Clinic, whereas straight men are more likely to use platforms like TikTok or Reddit. The study's findings were reported by Michelle TLP News.
