Frequent Steroid Injections May Worsen Arthritis
Medical findings suggest that frequent steroid injections used to treat arthritis pain may actually worsen the condition. Patients receiving these injections every 12 weeks showed no long-term improvement in pain levels. Data indicates that those receiving the injections actually had less cartilage in their knees. The treatment provides only short-term relief while potentially accelerating joint degradation. Repeated use of steroid injections is linked to the worsening of arthritis conditions.
