EU Noise Pollution Affects 500,000 Children
A new report from the American Lung Association indicates that nearly 50% of children in the United States are breathing unhealthy air. The report identifies specific cities with the highest pollution levels and cleanest air. This widespread issue poses significant long-term respiratory risks for the pediatric population. Continuous noise exposure affects more than 500,000 children across the European Union. The noise can lead to serious health consequences and academic difficulties, such as struggling to learn to read. Affected children may also experience increased nervousness or irritability. Compliance with health criteria regarding noise pollution is required for EU members. The noise interferes with early childhood learning processes, specifically the ability of children aged three to five to clearly hear and understand teacher pronunciation.
