UK Study Links Improved Women's Care To Fewer Miscarriages
Tommy's is trialling a new model of care intended to prevent 10,000 pregnancy losses annually in the UK. The initiative follows reports that patients may face multiple miscarriages before receiving serious medical attention. The UK government has promised to review miscarriage protocols. Researchers recommend providing follow-up tests after a first miscarriage. Professor Ari Kumar Assami, who directs miscarriage research for the charity Tomies, noted that patients currently must wait until they have experienced three miscarriages before receiving care to understand the causes.
