WHO Director-General Reassures Tenerife Over MV Honduras Risks
The Director of the World Health Organization has arrived in Tenerife, Canary Islands. Upon his arrival, he sought to reassure the local population regarding a potential health incident. WHO Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus met with Spanish Prime Minister Sánchez in Madrid. After meeting Spanish Prime Minister Sanchez in Madrid, the WHO Director-General traveled by plane to Tenerife Island the same afternoon. The ship 'Hongdeke 4' is expected to arrive in Tenerife today, carrying over 140 passengers and crew. The Hongdeke 4 cruise ship, which had been prohibited from docking due to an Andes virus outbreak, has finally arrived at a Spanish island, likely Tenerife. The population of the Canary Island (Tenerife) has been reassured that the risk of infection is low, according to German radio stations.
