A Hanta-virus outbreak on the cruise ship MV Hondius has prompted an evacuation plan. The Spanish government announced that Germany, France, Belgium, Ireland, and the Netherlands are sending planes to Tenerife for the evacuation. The MV Hondius is currently en route from Cape Verde to the Canary Islands. The World Health Organization is also cited as a source of information regarding the situation. Spanish authorities have declared that the virus, previously reported as an outbreak by German stations, is not considered a threat.
