UK Health Inequality Worse Than Many Nations
A report by the Health Foundation indicates that the UK has health inequality, ranking second lowest among wealthy nations, only above the US. The UK also experienced the second steepest decline in health outcomes. This finding is considered a bleak conclusion regarding the health disparities within the country. Two general practitioners (GPs) are observing health inequality on a daily basis, according to BBC Radio 4. Aisha Awa is one of the GPs mentioned. Issues such as isolation, housing insecurity, work and food insecurity, debt, and financial worry are increasingly showing up as health problems. The Health Foundation's findings align with these observations, said the need for preventative medicine. Professor Michael Marmot, an expert in epidemiology and public health at University College London, stated that to fight health inequality, every child must be given certain opportunities.
