Program Detects Early Alzheimer's Symptoms Via Voice
A passenger who attempted to board a KLM flight was denied boarding due to exhibiting symptoms. The individual's spouse, who was traveling to South Africa, died in South Africa after the attempt. Another passenger returned to Switzerland and is currently hospitalized in Zurich with symptoms. Professor Giuseppe Ippolito, an infectious disease specialist, provided details on the cases. Previously, a flight attendant from the same flight also showed symptoms but was later found not to have the virus. A Dutch woman was removed from a KLM aircraft just before departure and subsequently died from the virus. The discussion questions what specific vocal traits, such as grammatical structure, tone, or subtle sounds, the program perceives to indicate initial deterioration in speech capacity.
