WHO Reports Increase In Hunter Virus Cases
A suspected outbreak in Singapore has led to 149 passengers and crew being isolated. Approximately 700 hawkers, merchants, and members of the public have undergone screening at Heartbeat at Bedok. About 40% of workers required to be tested have completed screenings following the first day of free testing. Local Members of Parliament for East Coast GRC have used social media to reassure the public that dining at the 216 Bedok Food Centre remains safe. Two male residents are in quarantine at the National Centre for Infectious Diseases in Singapore following an Andes Hunter virus outbreak on a cruise ship. The individuals, a 67-year-old Singaporean and a 65-year-old permanent resident, were on the vessel when it departed Argentina on April 1st. The Communicable Diseases Agency was notified of their presence on the ship earlier this week.
