Patient Recovers From Ear Tumor Surgery In Vietnam

A 25-year-old man in Phu Tho was hospitalized at Viet Duc Friendship Hospital after two chopsticks were driven deep into his eye socket. Doctors used 3D imaging to locate the foreign objects, which were positioned near major carotid arteries. The surgical procedure lasted two hours to carefully remove the objects from the orbital area. Surgeons removed the object millimeter by millimeter to avoid life-threatening complications. The procedure required multiple medical units to coordinate the high-risk operation. A patient at 1.8 Military Central Hospital was diagnosed with left testicular atrophy caused by varicocele. The condition was discovered during a medical examination where ultrasound showed the left testicle was smaller than the right. Doctors warned that if left untreated, the condition poses risks to sperm quality and overall reproductive capacity. The patient was discharged two days after undergoing surgery to remove a tumor that was potentially dangerous due to its proximity to the temporal bone and meninges. Following the procedure, the patient reported no pain or dizziness and achieved full recovery of hearing. The condition is noted as rare and benign but capable of rapid growth into adjacent structures like the stapes and incus.
