An ozone alert has been issued in Seoul, advising against strenuous outdoor activities or prolonged exposure. It is recommended to keep windows closed on days with high ozone index readings to prevent outdoor air from entering. Ozone is formed when car exhaust and air pollutants combine with ultraviolet rays. Inhaling these substances can cause symptoms like headaches, difficulty breathing, or vomiting. More severe contact with eyes can lead to lung damage and inflammation. During an ozone alert, strenuous exercise or prolonged outdoor stays are not advised as ozone can impair lung function.
