New Thyroid Node Treatment Developed In Brașov

Clinics in Brașov have successfully performed the first microwave thermoablation procedures for large thyroid nodules. This medical procedure allows for the destruction of -sized nodules through non-invasive means. The treatment was conducted at a private clinic within the city. The procedure aims to reduce nodule size without leaving scars or requiring extensive post-procedural treatment. Patients must undergo a complete endocrinological consultation, including ultrasound and fine-needle aspiration, to rule out cancer before the intervention. The procedure is expected to become available soon at the Municipal Hospital in Brașov. This method is intended to lower costs and improve patient outcomes.
