Obstetric Ward Replaced By Gynecology Ward In Nowa Debra

The gynecological, obstetric, and neonatal departments of the district hospital in Nowa Debra have been liquidated. Officials stated the closures were necessary due to an inability to afford further millions in debt. Local resident Tomasz Zieliński expressed concern that the hospital may lose local control if administration moves to Lublin. Residents fear they may lose influence over whether departments are preserved or how the facility is used. The potential administrative shift to Lublin could impact the hospital's ability to maintain specific wards. There are fears regarding whether residents will maintain access to the facility and under what terms. The decision involves potential shifts in management and departmental utility. Tarnobrzeg County Council members made the decision. Tarnobrzeg Starosta Paweł Bartoszek stated the closures were due to financial problems. The current form of the gynecological-obstetric ward was estimated to cause annual losses of approximately 6 million PLN. The new ward will perform short, several-hour procedures that do not require long-term hospitalization.
