Sudanese Doctors Call For Urgent Intervention In Blue Nile
The Sudanese Doctors Network has issued a statement calling for urgent international intervention to address a malnutrition crisis in the Blue Nile region. More than 10,000 malnourished children are reported in Ad-Damazin city, with an additional 40,000 in Al-Hasahita. The crisis is concentrated in border areas including Al-Karmuk, Zisane, and Bau. The network is requesting immediate aid to prevent further health deterioration in these communities. The Sudanese Doctors Network reported that displaced persons in areas including Al-Damazin, Al-Kormok, Zisane, and Bau are facing severe shortages of food, water, and medicine. These areas are located along the border between Sudan and Ethiopia. The UN Population Fund also warned of widespread sexual violence in Sudan causing a mental health crisis among women and girls.
