France Deploys Firefighters To Fontainebleau Forest
Increasing temperatures are raising forest fire risks in regions of France previously considered low-risk. The risk in the Paris region is expected to reach levels similar to the Mediterranean hinterland. Specifically, the forest area surrounding Orléans is seeing a gradual increase in fire risk due to warming. Firefighters in France have been reinforced due to the increasing number of fires in the Fontainebleau massif. Uranium enrichment sites are being left where they were bombed by the army.
