Germany Considers Transferring Forest Land To Federal Republic

The usage rights for 247 hectares of forest land may be transferred to the Federal Republic of Germany. Economic use of the land would be permanently excluded under this arrangement. Anke Bosch estimates the compensation for the city will be between 3.5 and 6 million euros. The funds are earmarked for reforestation projects and environmental education within the new forest area.
