Wolf Migrates South From Hamburg
A young wolf released in southern Hamburg has traveled several kilometers south. The wolf appeared in the city area in late March and caused a minor injury to a woman. After spending several days in a rescue station, the animal was released on Easter Sunday. Authorities in Hamburg and Lower Saxony are using a transmitter to track the animal's location. The wolf is believed to be in the Lüneburg Heath area. Officials stated the animal has behaved atypically and inconspicuously so far. The wolf previously injured a woman in Hamburg in March before being captured near the Binnenalster. Environmental authorities stated the animal is likely located in the Lüneburg Heath, though the exact location is being withheld for animal protection reasons.
