Specialists Work To Prevent Oil Leak In Tuapse
An oil slick has been discovered off the Russian Black Sea coast near Tuapse. According to Soto Vision, the oil has reached the neighboring coastal settlements of Tyumenskiy and Novomikhaylovskiy, approximately 20.40 km away. This incident marks the third fire at the same location within two weeks. The Russian Union of the Tourism Industry reported that new bookings have already decreased by 15% due to environmental risks to the Black Sea coast. EMERCOM head Alexander Kurinkov stated that sufficient forces and resources are available to mitigate the consequences of an emergency at an oil depot. Work is being conducted on a 24-hour basis to secure the site. Authorities in the Kuban operational headquarters reported that over 8,000 cubic meters of contaminated soil and water-oil mixture have been addressed.
