Glacier Blockage Prevents Access To Everest Camp One

developing Bluesky Social Everest Base Camp 19d14d Impact 5
A large chunk of glacier has blocked key routes on Mount Everest during the peak climbing season. Climber Purnima Shrestha warned that even if the path is cleared soon, the available window for successful ascents could be significantly reduced. This disruption poses a major challenge for expeditions currently on the mountain. A 30-meter tall glacier is currently blocking the path to Camp One on Mount Everest. The movement of ice is creating loud cracking and thundering sounds, making the terrain unstable and prone to collapse into crevasses.
