Russian Agricultural Sowing Delayed By Heavy Rainfall
Abnormal precipitation and soil oversaturation have delayed spring sowing activities by several weeks in Russia. The Ministry of Agriculture reported that only 4 million hectares have been sown out of a target of 56 million hectares. Experts warned that a sudden warming could cause soil to dry rapidly, potentially reducing crop yields and quality for barley, peas, and wheat. Weather danger levels have been lowered to yellow.
