Hong Kong Launches Third Phase Of Single Window Trade Platform
The Agriculture, Fisheries and Conservation Department is collaborating with the World Wide Fund for Nature Hong Kong to protect coral reefs. The routes identify areas with dense coral and shallow water where entry and exit from boats are most likely to cause damage. The initiative aims to protect marine ecosystems during snorkeling and diving activities. Snorkel leaders will receive maps, and participants will be provided with mini waterproof map cards containing snorkeling rules. The routes were designed using coral distribution data collected in collaboration with the World Reef Foundation since late last year. The Fisheries Department will conduct hourly drone patrols and deploy staff to outlying islands as needed. Officials stated that data collected since May 1 will be used for future planning. Officials stated that staff deployment will be adjusted based on tourist movement.
