Sea Urchin Import Fails Heavy Metal Test
Authorities identified 26.4 kilograms of chilled sea urchin roe that exceeded heavy metal limits by nearly 1.7 times, with levels at 0.5 milligrams per kilogram. A 26.4kg batch of chilled sea urchin gonads failed heavy metal testing in Taiwan. Liu Fang-ming of the North District Management Center said the batch will be returned or destroyed and inspection rates for Zhengxian Company will increase to 20-50%. The North District Management Center of the 12th District stated the shipment must be returned or destroyed.
