Low Water Levels Reported In Hessen

hr-iNFO Wiesbaden 14d14d Impact 5
Water levels in rivers and water bodies have reached concernly low levels across the entire state of Hessen. The situation is particularly critical in northern and northeastern Hessen where the soil is already quite dry. Officials noted that if no rain falls this week, the low water levels and dry soil conditions are expected to continue. The situation is described as particularly concerning in North and Northeast Hessen where water levels and flows are very low. Local agriculture is experiencing dry soil due to insufficient rainfall. Officials noted that while current levels are low, conditions could change with widespread and prolonged rain rather than isolated thunderstorms. Farmers have not yet confirmed if crop failures will occur. Large-scale and prolonged rainfall would be required to mitigate the situation.
