Italy Proposes Marine Protection and Economic Support
New proposals aim to protect marine natural heritage by enforcing EU and international regulations, including for guided and training dives. They also support maritime economic activities by extending catastrophe insurance for extreme weather events and clarifying crew transfer rules for professional fishing. The proposals also suggest reusing decommissioned platforms for research, renewable energy, aquaculture, and tourism.
