Hunters and Farmers Use Drones to Save Fawns

NDR Info Schwerin 15d Impact 5
Farmers and hunters in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern are collaborating to save fawns from agricultural machinery. Fawns tend to hide in the grass when threatened, making them difficult to spot by mowers. Heat-imaging drones are used to scan fields before mowing. In the past year, approximately 3,000 fawns were rescued by 41 drone teams, with hunters covering over 90% of the area.
