Guatemala Promotes Sustainable Forestry and Financing
The National Coordinator for Disaster Reduction (CONRED) launched the NSE 7.8 structural safety standard for wooden buildings in Guatemala. Promoted by the National Forest Institute (INAB), the standard establishes technical criteria for mechanical resistance in wooden structures. This initiative aims to improve building safety and disaster resilience across the country. Municipalities in Guatemala are being strengthened through sustainable forest management initiatives.
