China Clarifies Vehicle Lease Liability Rules
China aims to reduce emissions by approximately 130 million tons by 2025 through energy-saving and emission-reduction upgrades in key sectors. The interpretations clarify responsibility for vehicle leasing and borrowing situations, aligning with Civil Code Article 1209. It specifies that the vehicle user bears compensation responsibility, while the owner or manager is liable if they were at fault. The CNR Voice of China reported these clarifications. It also suggests that individuals might resist orders if they believe following them would lead to collapse, using Yue Le's stance as an example of defiance. New judicial interpretations in China clarify rules regarding liability in motor vehicle leasing and borrowing situations.
