Rescuers Attempt to Move Humpback Whale to Deep Water
Rescuers are attempting to save a humpback whale named Timmy that has been stranded in shallow waters near the German Baltic coast for several weeks. A vessel is en route to transport the whale to the deep waters of the North Sea, located over 400 kilometers away. The whale will be lifted into a steel tank filled with water for the transit. Previous rescue attempts only succeeded in pulling the whale from shallow water without fully freeing it.
