New Bridges Enhance Kunming's Scenery And Environment

Thirteen characteristic bridges, themed around colorful cloud bridges, have been constructed across a 30-meter wide river channel. These bridges are becoming a new scenic spot for citizens and tourists. Seven main themed zones—mountain, water, forest, field, lake, grass, and village—have been created along the Dianchi Lake coast, becoming a new popular tourist spot. One bridge, the seven-hole floating bridge, draws inspiration from a historical Kunming scene, while its design elements are derived from the Haikou Chuanshui Bridge. These bridges are designed to float on the water's surface, traverse sandy beaches, and link opposite shores. The bridge's main structure is shaped like a sword, inspired by the ancient HaiKou Chuan Ju bridge in Kunming. Walking on the bridge offers views of the 'Sleeping Beauty' of Xishan on one side and the Kunming city skyline on the other. Its design draws from the shape of a bridge at Haikou.
