New Ecopark Opens in Pereira
The city of Pereira officially inaugurated the El Vergel Ecopark, a tourism and environmental project. The initiative was led by the Ministry of Commerce, Industry, and Tourism. The project involved an investment exceeding 14 billion pesos. A new environmental project has been launched in the Centro Occidente metropolitan area with an investment exceeding 14 billion pesos. The 22-hectare site includes ecological trails, a central plaza, food zones, sports areas, and a cultural venue. Minister Diana Marcela Morales stated the project aims to use tourism as a tool for social and environmental transformation while boosting local employment.
