Floods Submerge Towns in Meta Department
Heavy rains have caused rivers to overflow in several municipalities within Colombia's Meta department. Towns including Cimitarra, Alandazuru, and Puerto Parra remain completely flooded. Water levels in some sectors exceeded 5 meters, sweeping away household appliances. Elkin Esparza, the Planning Secretary of Puerto Parra, warned that the situation is critical. Red alerts are in effect due to rising levels in the Dio Carrara and Río O'Pumpe rivers. Power outages have been reported across multiple zones.
