Storms Leave 35,000 Households Without Power in Romania
Strong winds caused power outages for over 35,000 households across 140 localities in Romania. Affected areas include Bacău, Botoșani, Iași, Neamț, Suceava, and Vaslui. The Emergency Situations Inspectorate reported that the storm also removed roofs from 10 apartment buildings. Severe storms across eastern Romania have left over 35,000 consumers without electricity. The General Inspectorate for Emergency Situations reported that 40 localities across six counties were affected. Emergency crews intervened in nearly 60 localities to clear construction debris from 50 buildings. Ten trees and utility poles were also removed from roads to restore access. A fire in Rucăren, Vrancea County, affected more than 30 households.
