China Faces Weather Alerts For Heavy Rain And Heat

A weather front in South China is expected to approach Taiwan by Wednesday. rainfall is expected from this afternoon through tomorrow night before gradually subsiding. Temperatures in Taipei are generally between 29 and 32 degrees Celsius, though local areas may reach 36 degrees due to southwest winds. Increased northeast monsoon activity is expected to lower temperatures in central and northern regions, including Yilan and Hualien, starting tonight. Northern Taiwan daytime temperatures are expected to drop to approximately 22-23 degrees Celsius due to rain and northeast monsoon winds. Meteorological Bureau forecaster Liu Peiten warned that the current period of good weather will end today. Good weather is expected to last only through today, with rain forecast to begin as early as tomorrow. As rainfall subsides, temperatures are rapidly rising across various regions. Parts of China, including the Yili River Valley in Xinjiang, southeastern Fujian, southeastern Guangxi, central and eastern Guangdong, Hainan Island, and Taiwan Island, are expected to experience moderate to heavy rain. Some areas in northern Taiwan may see torrential downpours. From May 4th to 6th, temperatures in most of central and eastern China will rise rapidly, with large areas in southern North China, the Yellow Sea region, and Jiangnan experiencing temperatures of 30 degrees Celsius or higher. Cities such as Taizhou, Xigong, Jinan, and Hefei may experience high temperatures.
