Sandez Company Pays 43 Million Francs For Chemical Spill
Between 10 and 30 tons of a toxic mixture containing mercury, phosphates, and other hazardous components entered the Rhine River. The mixture reacted with fuel and required 1,000 liters of foam to manage. Water analysis revealed at least 200 kilograms of mercury in the river.
