Moscow Records Highest April Snowfall In 72 Years
Heavy snowfall in the Moscow region has caused power outages for residents. In the Klin district, specifically in Volosovo, residents reported being without electricity for over three days starting April 27. The region recorded a record snow depth for this time of year following more than two meters of precipitation in early April. Weather conditions are cited as the cause for the energy infrastructure failures. Since April 27, the city has experienced more than two months' worth of normal precipitation. The snowfall occurred on sections of roads with concrete surfaces, according to the report. The monthly average temperature was noted as part of this meteorological record.
