King Country State of Emergency Lifted
A local state of emergency was lifted in the King Country settlement on Sunday. Approximately 50 homes were damaged by floodwaters during a major deluge last Sunday. Six people were reported seriously injured during the flooding event. Local authorities are now focusing on clearing houses and repairing septic systems. The Ruapehu District Council is currently assessing the long-term community costs of the damage.
