US Terminates $7 Billion In Energy Projects

Former Bureau of Ocean Energy Management director Liz Klein stated she does not believe the administration has the legal authority to take this step. The projects were reportedly viable only when supported by taxpayer subsidies under the Biden administration. Nearly $2 billion in payments are involved, raising questions regarding the legality of the action. The Department of Interior has not responded to inquiries regarding the spending authority for these payments.
