University Of Maryland To Implement Hiring Freeze
The state has closed a $1.5 billion deficit with the fiscal 2027 budget. The University of Maryland will receive $872 million from the state, which includes a 1.5% cost of living raise for university employees. No new employees will be hired at the university until at least June.
