Steelworkers Report Increased Workload Demands
Griff Reyes, chair of United Steelworkers Local Five, stated that individual operators are now performing the work previously handled by four or five people. Reyes noted that tasks such as handling flammables or heavy equipment are being split between only one or two people. The shift is described as a change in how loads are split among workers.
