State Farm Faces Potential California Insurance Suspension
The Department of Insurance reported finding nearly 400 violations across 220 reviewed claims. State regulators are seeking to suspend State Farm's license for up to one year. The investigation allegedly found 398 violations of state law in approximately half of those claims. The regulator also intends to levy the largest penalty ever against the company for mishandling wildfire claims in Los Angeles County. The investigation found the insurance company violated California state law. A judge sharply criticized officials at the D.C. jail regarding the treatment of Cole Allen, who is accused of attempting to assassinate President Donald Trump. Allen was reportedly placed in severe lockdown conditions, including time on suicide watch in a padded cell, which the judge deemed punitive. The judge ordered jail officials to explain when or if Allen will be moved.
