Russia Approves Cryptocurrency Regulation Bills
The Russian government has approved draft bills aimed at regulating cryptocurrencies. This move follows warnings from police about an increase in scam cases involving cryptocurrency transfers, which have resulted in over $182 million in losses in 2025. Additionally, illegal cryptocurrency circulation will become a criminal offense in Russia. The Central Bank head believes the circulation of cryptocurrencies and financial instruments in Russia should gradually converge. This move is expected to criminalize the illegal circulation of cryptocurrencies within the Russian Federation.
